A MUST-HAVE FOR ANYONE WITH A PASSION FOR THE RICH HISTORIC COINAGE OF MEXICO AND THE CIVIL WAR ERA. THIS SHOULD BE OF INTEREST..

It's important to note that Silver Mexican Coinage was widely accepted in the English and French Colonies as Legal Tender. DOLLARS until the late 1850's. Following Admiral David Farragut's Retaking of the City of New Orleans and its United States Mint, Citizens of the Confederacy resumed using Mexican Coinage. Dated the first year of the Civil War, it is very conceivable that this coin was circulated within the Confederacy as a Silver Dollar. THIS IS A GREAT HISTORIC KEEPSAKE!
